From a folded body to seven shelves

The EU reference measures 56 × 36.5 × 28 cm when open and 56 × 31 × 9.5 cm when folded, in width, depth and height order. Shelves need their own storage arrangement when the body is folded. Set it up on a suitable level surface, fit the air filter and keep the inlet and outlet clear before loading.

Two sequential timers each offer settings from 15 minutes to 99 hours. The heated range is 30–74°C, with a separate fan-only option when your process calls for unheated airflow. The EU electrical reference is 220–240 V and 690–820 W; those ratings are not a constant electricity-use promise and must not be confused with the 120 V version.

From a warm rise to an overnight rest

For sourdough, bread rolls or laminated dough, the useful distinction is the ability to cool as well as heat. Programme a first stage and a second stage around your recipe; the change happens automatically. This controls the environment, rather than guaranteeing that every dough will be ready at a particular time.

The two supplied pans also act as supports for proofing containers. Up to four compatible pans can fit, but extra pans are not included. Taller bannetons need different spacing, so check their actual dimensions. A familiar “half-sheet” label alone does not guarantee that another brand’s rim will fit the cabinet slots.

Brod & Taylor SAHARA

Drying space that folds away

SAHARA is a useful choice when storage between sessions matters as much as drying capacity. Check both its open footprint and folded dimensions: folding reduces storage height, but the operating appliance still needs ventilation and working space. The manufacturer manual specifies household use.

Drying and preparation

Fully unfold and secure the body before loading the seven shelves. Keep the filter fitted and ventilation paths clear; select heated or fan-only operation as directed by the manual.

Figures refer to the stated package. Optional trays, regional revisions and operating limits need confirmation; see the dehydrator buying guide.
